Dark messiah of might and magic xana rule34
The path weaves, going inside and back out again, heading up stairs and through buildings. More tunnels, more spiders and this time a building that collapses if you head to far out: On the distant cliffs you may have noticed some wooden buildings, sticking limpet-like to the cliff face, I soon enter one, nothing exciting though. This section has some great views, the distant cliffs, the sea below. I discover a lift that apparently goes up to the top, but it’s broken, maybe I’ll use it to get back down. I fight my way up, going higher and higher. A stone staircase hugs the side of a huge cliff, I enocunter some more orcs. Several tunnels later I once again see daylight, this time it will last a little longer. There is also a very Indiana Jones feeling room, flames spit out from the walls when you try to get to the box, I manage to get past, slightly singed. On the opposite side there is a blue one for, you guessed it, mana. Firstly a room with a red pool, going for a quick dip heals you. Once I’ve cleared the area I discover some strange rooms, they feel almost like an after thought since they aren’t featured anywhere else in the game, but they’re still interesting. More goblins below, even they have discussions. A traditional water puzzle leads me up to a tunnel that connects with the other side of the portcullis I encountered earlier. I get my first glimpse of daylight again in the form of this valley. Once I get to the top I find more cobwebs, it only turns out to be a small section though. Be sure to climb up as high as you can before moving onto the next. To climb up I’ll need to make use of my Rope bow, this is pretty easy although there is one section that requires jumping from one rope to another, then to a chain. There are quite a lot but with my resistance it’s only a matter of time. Looking up I see several platforms where I need to get too, Xana warns me to check the walls and there they are, more spiders climbing down. I soon find a way out of the web encrusted section, that isn’t the end of the spiders however. Their huge hairy legs move fairly realistically. I wouldn’t call myself an arachnophobe, but spiders definitely make me feel uncomfortable, these spiders do a pretty good job. I reach a central chamber where there are yet more spiders. However to negate some of the effects I choose the poison resistance ability, rather than jumps of about 5hp, poison only lowers your health 1hp at a time, giving you plenty of time to defeat the surrounding spiders. That does leave you vulnerable, but like the black headcrabs in HL2 it doesn’t really matter. It doesn’t work flawlessly though, once it hits 5hp the poison effect is lost anyway. You can drink some antidote at this point to totally negate the poison. The edges of your view turn green and so does your health bar, it depletes pretty quickly. In a fight they’re pretty easy, they can take a lot of damage but they don’t dish much out, the problem is their poison. The tunnel in front of me collapses, I carefully jump down and discover a mass of cobwebs. The Pao Kai dealt with I head back to Leanna for this second path to the crystal chamber, yet another hole. Shocking…no that doesn’t work in this situation…erm, no more gate crashing for him. I pull the lever and the gate crashes down, after uselessly flailing around the fight is over. The Pao Kai sticks his head in the narrow passage way, I try to think of something witty to say, I fail. I won’t be able to take it on myself, Leanna suggests using the nearby portcullis in a Rancor re-enactment. Part of the roof caves in and this giant monstrosity flaps in, some pretty beautiful sunlight floods in too, so it’s not all bad. Well…as personal as a twelve foot dragon can be. The Pao Kai is back, and this time it’s personal. She starts to levitate a block of stone when we hear a rumble from above. I get back to Leanna and she says she knows a way around. I make my way forward but run into a group of goblins that are standing behind a closed portcullis, I’ll have to go back and find another way. They’re not difficult to beat, but there are a lot of them. These are quite a different challenge to soldiers and orcs, for one they’re less than half your height, so you are constantly bending down to fight them. I set off, and soon run into some little goblins. After entering the temple yesterday, I had to go off on my own to place the Shantiri crystal in its proper place.
